Alma Medical Centre is taking part in a 3 month pilot of MSK assist 'Primary Care' which is a new digital tool that will help you to effectively manage your musculoskeletal problems.  Please click on the link below to access the new tool

Please always consider using our E-Consult Link below for general clinical and administrative advice including sick certificates.

TARGET is a scheme that brings our city’s GPs, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants together every two months to learn new skills, hear about new treatments and share good practice.  We think it will mean better services all round – that is what we’re aiming for!
It means that your surgery will need to close for one afternoon every two months but we will ensure that medical care will be available when you need it.  The surgery will therefore be closed on the following afternoons but the Out of Hours service (which can be accessed by calling 111) will cover:
Thursday 16 January 2020
Thursday 26 March 2020

Please ask at the reception for your on-line registration details.  Alternatively you can request access by following the links highlighted in the Online Services folder on the home page.

diary_appointmentTo make an appointment telephone 02380 672666 or call in to the surgery. The practice operates an appointments system to consult any doctor in the practice.

We aim to provide an appointment for a doctor within 24 hours where you consider the condition urgent, but in the cases that are felt to be more urgent and cannot wait we will give an appointment for the next available surgery. This appointment may not be for a couple of weeks so if you do need to be seen in the future can you please try and book in advance and also ensure that you attend your appointment?

It is not always possible to see the doctor of your choice urgently but we do aim to give you an appointment as soon as it is possible with an alternative doctor.

We aim to see you within 30 minutes of your appointment time and where this is not possible we will give you an explanation. Remember to make a separate appointment for each person.

Alternatively, you can book in for a telephone appointment with a doctor if you feel this is more appropriate.

Please do not ask the doctor to see someone else or write out a repeat prescription for someone else during the consultation.

Extended Hours

We also offer Saturday morning surgeries as follows:

Saturday 09:00 - 12:00 - appointments are available to pre-book in advance and some are also accessible to book on-line. The surgery will not be open for any other services during these times.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
