Research - Earswitch
Earswitch
We are looking for "ear rumblers", individuals who can voluntarily induce a dull rumbling sound in their ears on demand, to participate in a study. This is part of a project that is developing the EarSwitch, an ear-based communication device for assistive communication.
You Can Participate If You:
- Can ear rumble (squeeze a muscle in your ear)
- Use assistive technology (including a communication aid and/or technology to assist with feeding, mobility, or controlling your environment)
- Are aged 18 or over
- You have access to your own personal phone/laptop/tablet/computer

Potential Benefits:
- Help the development of a novel assistive communication device which has the potential to improve the lives of people who have communication difficulties.
Participation Involves:
- A 4-week study that will take place in your own home
- Performing a series of ear rumbling tasks
- Using the EarSwitch device to complete weekly & daily tasks
- Answering questionnaires about the device
